AntiMatter research in Italy starts, linked to Enrico Fermi.
[The Chicago FermiLab is named after Fermi].
Already in the 1920s Fermi meets german Paul Ehrenfest, who is specialized in the field of Quantum Mechanics and married with Russian/Dutch mathematician Tatyana Alexeyevna Afanasyeva.
Officially Fermi killed himself in September 1933, a few weeks after the historical beginning of WW2 .

LSD is first synthesized in 1938 by Swiss chemist Dr. Albert Hofmann at the Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland, which is now Novartis.
(Salvia divinorum was first documented in 1939, but it was many years before botanists could identify the plant due to Mazatec secrecy about the growing sites)
