1970
SRI goes independent in 1970 due to protest of its military contracts.
Among them were studies with LSD and chemical warfare.
In 1972 SRI continues with the "Remote Viewing Program" led by Hal Puthoff and Russell Targ.

1971
The history of so called bio stores worldwide starts in Berlin with a store named „Peace Food“, by Ramon und Anchalla Markus. 'Peace Food' was immediately sold to Yoga-Organisation and Cult Ananda Marga, which was already created in the 1950s by former journalist Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar aka Anandamurti. Sarkar's potential direct ties to the CIA couldn't really be established, but he opened regional Ananda Marga offices in the U.S. during 1969 and later also provoked diversions with "Marxist mobs", who actually killed some of Ananda Marga's members, which appears in hindsight as a part of some militarized psyOP. During the early 70's Communists accused Sarkar as part of the CIA. After 1979 Sarkar was banned by the U.S. State Department.

Shiva Star, originally just SHIVA, starts as a high-powered pulsed-power research device located at the Air Force Research Laboratory
on the Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The program is later re-directed to studies for the Strategic Defense Initiative.

Physicist Hal Puthoff started to work at the Stanford Research Institute.
Officially his expertise was in lasers, but in his spare time he dabbled with parapsychology.
He later recruited Pat Price and Ingo Swann for his para psychological team, supported by the CIA and someone named "Commodore", which was none other than the creator of Scientology, L. Ron (DeWolf)Hubbard.
Puthoff, and the CIA's star psychic spies, Price and Swann ended up as Scientology members as well.

The german tv movie "Welt am Draht", based on the 1964 novel by Daniel F.
